Wednesday, February 27, 2008I'm attempting really hard to study without falling asleep here...Its either cause i'm bored so i feel like sleeping or i'm tired so i'm getting bored from trying to keep awake. hahaha... anyways, had a great shopping day yesterday and a most enjoyable day out with my besties on sun. I met my besties twice in 3 days!!! WHEE!!! Anyways, on Sun, we ate at this Istanbul restaurant in East Point, remember trying the food there with kr a long time ago and felt it was quite nice so decide to bring them to try. Decided to head to town after that to walk and eat desert. =S Ended up at the Swensens in Marina Square for ice-cream. Had 2 scoops of ice-cream and I nearly died... it was SUPER FILLING!!! Haha... After that we just walked around a little more, and went our seperate ways... Found out when I went to my grands that my grandpa is going for an op on Sat, hopefully all goes smoothly. Isn't exactly a big op but he's old and really fragile so it tends to get a little worrying... Met up with besties again yesterday for our bikini shopping!! Like finally... think i procrastinated too much... hahaha... Anyways,we decided on KFC for lunch and Gelare for desert cause it was TUES!!! Waffles at HALF PRICE!! WOHOO!!! It was really really nice. *claps claps* All of us ended up buying a bikini each.... was pretty cool lar, won't say its cheap but ah wells... looking forward to beach day with my besties. YEAH! =) Bought a belt yesterday too, like finally after dragging for so long... wonder if its bought on impulse though.. Anyways, today's going to be a super long day, got the haven tuitioning later tonight followed by night cycling... Then tomorrow morning, i'm going for a survey at biz at 9.30a.m, meeting S11 girls for lunch at raffles city thereafter... Got to discuss about tiger brewery stuff later at night before safety comm treat at 10.30. Long day huh? Just hope I got the stamina to open my bee tai mat eyes throughout. Feel really bad for not helping Albert out with the brewery stuff, no wonder my peer appraisal for Alumni Sect was so terrible. Deserve it. =S Anyways, just really happy and excited but worried at the same time. Going crazy... Tata!! MUG MUG MUG!!! Wednesday, February 20, 2008time to update!!Guess the biggest event from the past few days was the NUS Choir concert on Sun night. So happy I could kill 2 birds with 1 stone cause bz was performing too!! The concert was really muscial, really showed me the difference in standard. Haha... So glad Cheryl and Mei Yi came too. Started reminising the past. Oops.. so me right... haha.. Well, just thought back of how beautiful times were, and how I don't think I can ever live without these friends even though we've got nearly no common topics and hardly know what to say about each other anymore cause we've been doing that for years. I just know that they're already deeply etched in my heart and will always be, just like kr. These people have really impacted my life more than I know. Think its starting to show more now as the years pass and as we age. Haha.. Just want to thank these babes for being the LURVE of my life. Haha.. and to kr and my family... Thanks to all of you who would and are loving me for exactly who I am even though i may not be the bestest kind of daughter/sister/friend/gf, i'm just really glad you appreciate me for what I am, and I'm stuck unto you people! Tuesday, February 12, 2008Was scared out of my wits this morning while walking to my piano teacher's house. A tyre of this huge truck turning into Amber Road(the road where I was walking) suddenly burst and the sound exploded into the whole neighbourhood. I JUMPED. Like seriously jumped cause the sound was so deafening! Sounded like a mini bomb explosion. Well, mini bomb cause a real bomb explosion i reckon would be much worse than what i experienced just now.Anyways, that was that. Wanted to go donate blood but part of me is scared I'll be rejected again cause of low blood pressure and the other part just refuses to go alone. HAHAHA. And I'm suffering from a super bad breakout on the left side of my nose. Hurts like hell. ARGH. Got to really start rushing to do the V day pressie. Sudden urgent meeting by RF Ms Chin tonight, heard rumours saying its regarding increasing hall fees. Man, really spoilt my mood. I mean currently its already about $1400 per sem, which means if I really want to stay for 4 years, that would mean approx. $9600. It's way too much for me to burden my parents with. They've already given me so much! I really don't know how I'm suppose to ask them to pay for my stay if the fees increase any further. Guess that's going to be a really huge deciding factor, already feeling pretty turned off. I can just picture my dad still slogging hard many years down the road to just support my siblings while I am here, enjoying every moment of my hall stay. What's 4 hours of travelling to saving a few thousand bucks right? Anyways, it wouldn't make a difference if I stay or not cause I'm not a "star player", and come to think of it, I'm not contributing much either. The part I think that's going to be really had to let go has got to be the friendships that I've built in the course of the 2 semesters. But I'm certain true friendship knows no boundaries, so we'll see. =) Anyhow, nothing's really confirmed until the meeting tonight... Well, super busy week ahead... take care everyone!!! =) Saturday, February 09, 2008HUAT AH!!!Hope everybody is making some $$ if you're playing and if you're not, that you're enjoying this hol to the max! =) CNY for me so far has been great! First day of CNY was a little different cause my second auntie didn't come to my grands so there were 5 people less in the house, which means its less "happening". Haha.. And it also means that we probably won't see them until next year. =S Anyways, this time we stayed in my grands longer than usual, not sure why but everyone seem to have something to say... haha... Was vegetarian until 12 so had to skip all the lovely cookies my second auntie made for my grandma... luckily we brought 1 container of her cashew nut cookies back in the end, so we didn't miss out too much. =D Then it was back to our routine visits to "lao gou"'s house, followed by 3rd granduncle, 4th grandauntie then 2nd granduncle's house. After that, we headed to my nanny's place and finally back to my maternal grands. Rested there a while, started gambling a little =S before we all headed to my grandaunt's place where the little cousins there were all waiting for us to start.... "playing". They're really really adorable, they brought all their "fa bao" to play lar! So that ends my first day of CNY. Second day was another round of visiting but less. Headed to my bro's godparents place first, then to my maternal grands straight cause all the granduncles and grandaunties were going to gather there to eat and gamble. It's an annual affair really... So my poor grandpa stayed up all night preparing the food... my uncle and mum got themselves busy the moment we got there whilst the rest of us... just played with my other uncle. Good thing is... we won quite a bit from him generally... YEAH!!! hahaha. So the crowd started coming in and the gambling stopped. It only started again when the other cousins wanted to play so i "zuo zuang" lor.. lost back all I won but it wasn't too bad lar. It seems better to be set with the mentality that you're out to give the kids some money... won't feel the pain.. hahaha.. OH YA!! i increased my bet to 50CENTS!!! Amazing right.... HAHAHA. In the late afternoon we went up woodlands to visit yet another grandaunt. Spent quite a bit of time there then we dropped by my uncle's place to "bai nian" before heading back to that grandauntie's house. The adults were really on the edge of their seats cause they were playing "in between" (not a casino game btw) and the pool was about $800++. It was scary to even watch. We only left that place around 12 midnight plus... This morning, woke up super early to clear the place cause this time... we have visitors... Had breakfast in the foodcourt. Went to kr's house after that to bai nian, and we went out!!! Cool huh... don't think i ever stayed out during the first few days of CNY. Collected quite a bit of hong baos. Feel pretty bad... We took a trip to PS for lunch... ate LJS in the end. Ironice right.. but it's more economical lar.. then we went to secret recipe for desert. YUM YUM. had New York Cheese cake. Way nice... So anyways, i'm back at home now... really tired today... My mum cooked dinner.. missed home food really. A;rightie, super tired now... Good night everyone!! and may the "force" be with you... Got win 1 must treat after CNY ~.. hahahaha Bye!! Wednesday, February 06, 2008Its FINALLY CNY!!First, I want to wish everyone a prosperous and smooth-sailing CNY! GONG XI FA CAI, WAN SHI RU YI, XIN NIAN KUAI LE, SHEN TI JIAN KANG!! You know, these are the standard 4 "cheng yu" my siblings and I use when we pay greetings to all our zhang bei men... cool eh.. hahaha... This year, I really hope I can do better studies wise, but on top of that, I really hope all my family and friends will be in the pink of health and be happy everyday. Especially my family since I won't be around most days of the week. Well, my bestie Cheryl's response on my tagboard really surprised me positively a little. =) Her reply was so different from what I'd probably read 2 years ago. So heartening to see all of us grow up, though I really miss the good ol' times. Haha... Had steamboat at home for the first time in my 19 years with just my immediate family and paternal grandparents. We always went to my grands for steamboat on New Year's Eve, but this year is pretty different. We had the "big" reunion last night at Big Eater restaurant. Not as nice as I hoped but ah wells. It's the company that matters right. Currently watching the countdown now, hopefully you all got to watch the segment about your lucky colours and numbers... Haha.. May not be very true but ah wells, no harm believing right? ^.^ OK. ARGH!! The year is passing by too quickly!! It's SO EXCITING!!! *clap clap clap* ok lar, think i shall end here. HUAT AH!!! *HUGZ* Friday, February 01, 2008It's 4 days to CNY!! WHEE!!!The past week has been really hectic especially Tues. Had presentation on Wed so had to rush everything asap, and all this wouldn't have been possible without Ame. She really did everything, feel really apologetic towards her. Anyways, finally got to meet kr yesterday. Met him at Changi Village, ate at Charlie's Corner. Quite ex that place, and the food is so-so lar. But company is more important. =) Had delifrance buffet with him this morn. Its not to ex lar, about $7.95+ per adult, ++ for service charge and GST etc. Its available from 7.30-10.30am daily i think and only at selected outlets, TM I know offers it for sure, had it there this morn. Haha. I would recommend it to those who love pastry like I do. =D The selection wasn't too fantastic but it sure is filling. I ate more than kr lar!! Just imagine what a pastry monster I am. Haha... Met my nanny and family for dinner at Bugis afterward, ate at some Hong Kong restaurant, so I'm super full now. As usual, my 'jie jie' insisted I get something, so I decided a pair of shoes and that's it. But nonetheless, my plan failed, she go me a blouse too. Quite an expensive one too... really owe them a lot. Got a pair of sandals too, walked from Bugis to Raffles City because nothing caught my eye in Bugis. Thankfully we walked there cause we got quite a good deal although I regret not just getting another pair of shoes. Ah wells, all in all I had a great time meeting up with another of my family. =) So I'm back in hall now. No one's back here cause its a Sat night and everyone is still at home! Ok lar, but my neighbours are back because they're touch ruggers. (^.^) Oh oh! I sat the train to habourfront from Outram Park with Xiaoting!! So coincidental right?! *clap clap* A boring bus ride home became interesting, how lucky I was. =) OH RIGHT! I nearly forgot 1 super important event that happened in the past week and that's the DOUBLE GOLD for BADMINTON!!!! YEAH!!! Congrats to all the girls and guys that made history on 29th Jan 2007!!! =) =) Alright, hope to see my besties soon... saw mei yi that day, gave her a shock of her life cause I blatantly knocked into her. Hahaha... think both mei yi and timothy were about to whack me... kekeke... ok... shall end here... tke care pple!!! Pls don't get sick before CNY k... *hugz* |
